About

I am Richard Umpherville, a Metis entrepreneur and business owner of Umpherville Designs & Renovations. I am a 15 year veteran red seal journeyman Powerline Technician that decided leave that career to conquer my mental health stress created in the workforce and open my own business. I have been in operation for 3 years and I’ve enjoyed every minute of each day since making the move. Working directly with customers to achieve there needs from design to finish product is a rewarding and lifechanging experience. This career change has given me the flexibility to work hours around my other family commitments and enjoy my two young children’s smiling faces every morning. My Business goals are to build and design with the earth in mind and to always stay connected to the land. I enjoy building using natural products including log creations like railings, beds, timber framing and art. Working directly with these materials from harvest to completed project has been a positive influence on my physical and mental health. I am proud to be a Metis business owner and encourage others to follow their dreams.
