Gabriel Dumont Institute Training and Employment (GDITE)

GDITE provides skills training and business support to help Métis individuals build sustainable careers, strengthen their businesses, and contribute to the economic success of their communities. Read More.

 

GDITE Programs
  • Pathways for Entrepreneurship: Supports Métis entrepreneurs in Saskatchewan by offering funding for business and industry training, professional services, living allowances during startup, and more. Free resources include a business startup guide, and virtual and in-person training workshops.
  • Indigenous Apprenticeship Program: Helps employers and entrepreneurs expand by connecting them with Indigenous apprentices who are beginning their trade. In exchange for indentureship, employers may receive access to Indigenous talent, and apprentice wage subsidies. Indigenous apprentices can also access supports for books, tools, and training costs.

SaskMétis Economic Development Corporation (SMEDCO)

SMEDCO finances Métis-owned businesses in Saskatchewan, supporting start-ups, acquisitions, and expansions. Supporting Metis business development supports not only Metis business but also the entire province. Read More.

SMEDCO Programs
  • Term Load Financing: SMEDCO can offer loans designed to assist Metis businesses; contributions include competitive terms, flexible pre-payment options, and support tailored to Métis-owned, Saskatchewan-based businesses.
  • The Métis Assistance Program (MAP): Offers non-repayable contributions for Métis entrepreneurs and community-owned enterprises. Ideal for start-ups, expansions, or acquisitions. The MAP can be stacked with term lending financing, along with 0% financing from CCDF.

Clarence Campeau Development Fund (CCDF)

CCDF empowers Métis entrepreneurs in Saskatchewan by offering 0% Loans, Non-repayable Grants, Business Support Programs and Management Skills Programs to grow businesses and drive economic impact. CCDF Programs
  • Business Development Program: Provides equity to Métis entrepreneurs through repayable interest-free loan.
  • Métis Entrepreneurship Equity Program: Provides equity to Métis entrepreneurs through a non-repayable grant.
  • Women’s Business Program: This program helps Métis Women overcome barriers to business ownership, and enhance their ability to leverage financing through an interest-free loan.
  • Women Micro-Loan and Grant Program: This program helps Métis Women overcome barriers to building credit and leverage financial support through a combined loan and grant.
  • Youth Business Program: Assists Métis Youth ages 18 – 39 in overcoming financial barriers through an interest-free loan.
  • Management Skills Program: Helps to financially support the development of management skills critical to running a business.
  • Major Business Development Program: Targeted towards Metis entrepreneurs who wish to participate in the energy and resources sector or any large-scale project.
